Dakota Schmidt
Health Teacher
Platte City Middle School
Hello! I am Dakota Schmidt, and I am a Health Teacher at PCMS. I have been teaching since 2023. Along with my teaching duties, I coach HS Football, HS Track, and am Platte County's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. I am a 2018 graduate from Platte County, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude as well as participating in football, wrestling, and track during my four years of High School. Following graduation, I attended Northwest Missouri State University where I completed my bachelor's degree in Applied Health Science: Exercise Science as well as a master's in Applied Health: Sport Science with a post-baccalaureate teaching certification. I was a member of the Bearcat Track and Field Team, where I set the javelin school record and was a 2x Second-Team NCAA All-American. In 2023, I earned the prestigious Elite 90 Award from the NCAA at the D2 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
I am thrilled to return to Platte County and work with a great staff to educate students and prepare them for life beyond middle and high school! Pirate Pride!
