Dr. Rebecca Ballou
Speech-Language Pathologist
Platte City Middle School, Platte County High School
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Platte County R-3 School District serving Platte City Middle School, and Platte County High School. I received my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Speech Pathology and Audiology from The University of Missouri (1994), my Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Missouri (1995), and my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Kansas (2003). This is my 29th year as an SLP, and my 10th year in the Platte County School District. I also taught for 4 years at Rockhurst University in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department, both undergraduate and graduate studies. My husband and I are the proud parents of a 2022 Platte County graduate who attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!) and a current junior at Platte County High School. We love being PIRATES!
The most important part of being a good Speech-Language Pathologist is communication. Keeping in touch with the parents of my students is very important to me! Although I travel between two buildings, and my schedule is different every day, I check my email frequently throughout the day. I also check my voice mail twice daily (AM/PM). Please feel free to contact me anytime!
