Platte City Middle School
I am currently in my 20th year of teaching, and every day I am amazed and excited at what a perfect career path I chose! I received my degree in Elementary Education from Park University, a Masters in Curriculum from Webster University, and a second Masters in Reading from Park University. I also have an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Missouri State. I have worked in elementary and middle schools classrooms; as well as in large and small districts. I value each experience I've had and use the experiences to help me in my current position on a daily basis. I am also honored to coach the middle school cross country team as well as the Trolley Run training team. It is awesome to share my passion for running with some pretty amazing kids. I am married to John, a Kansas City Missouri police officer. We have two children who attended Barry, but are now in college. My son Nathan is working on a business degree while competing in cross country and track at Park University. We also have a beautiful daughter named Erin. She is attending Colorado Christian University on a cross country and track scholarship as well and is majoring in special education. I love watching my kids succeed at something they work so hard at. As for me, I love a few things besides my family...such as ice tea. As in you probably won't see me without a Quick Trip cup. I'm also addicted to Vera Bradley and lip gloss. You should know that I like things neat and organized but also recognize that creativity, learning, and success sometimes looks messy! Our Classroom Goal: We will learn, and have fun while doing it, in a safe, caring and respectful environment.
