Dr. Chris Miller joined the PCMS family as an Assistant Principal in the 2005-2006 school year. After serving as the Assistant Principal for two years, Dr. Miller was named the Principal of PCMS and has served in that capacity since 2007. Chris married Heather in 1999. They have two children, Zane (2005) and Ella (2010).
Dr. Miller began his education career in 1999, and brings 12 years of administration experience at the middle school level. Chris graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Educational Administration. Prior to Platte County, worked in the Ozark School District serving as a physical education teacher and high school varsity boy's and girl's soccer head coach. Chris started his administrative career at the Harrisonville Middle School serving as an Assistant Principal and also the varsity soccer head coach for both the boy's and girl's soccer teams.

My name is Dr. Emily Miller, and I am honored to be the Assistant Principal at Platte City Middle School. I started my career in education in 2014 with the St. Joseph School District and joined the Platte County Pirates in 2019 working at Pathfinder Elementary as a teacher, then serving as the Assistant Principal since 2022. I received my Bachelor's degree from Missouri Western University in Elementary Education, Master's and Education Specialist from Arkansas State University in Administration and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.
I believe in the value of real world learning and fostering a strong foundation of readiness skills for our students as they progress through their schooling years. I believe that offering meaningful and engaging experiences to all of our students is the key to success, because all students can learn at high levels and do great things! I value the importance of relationships with students, families and staff as we work together in partnership for student success a positive educational experience for all!
I'm originally from the Kansas City area and currently reside in the community. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. We enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. I am an avid reader and always enjoy talking about the latest good reads. I look forward to welcoming you with a smile at Pathfinder!
