Tina Rackin
Art Teacher
Platte City Middle School
I am excited to bring my passion for art and teaching to PCMS! I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art (BFA) at Park University in Parkville, MO. I serve our community as the Visual Arts Co-Chair for Platte City Friends of the Arts and I enjoy planning art related events and teaching visual arts classes that enrich lives and strengthen our community.
I have three pirates in this school district who love our schools as much as I do. Painting is my favorite artistic medium, but I also enjoy drawing, printmaking, photography and fiber arts. In my free time, I enjoy creating artwork, going to museums, crochet, and gardening.
One of my favorite poets, Maya Angelou, said “All great artists draw from the same resource: the human heart, which tells us that we are all more alike than we are unalike.” Our students and teachers are the creative heartbeat of our amazing and diverse community. I look forward to enriching our hearts, together, through the arts.
